Nineteen eighty three,
cream of the era, from all dimensions,
sealed the prophet for another hundred years.

In 1983, before blocking the river to build the dam, the Hòa Bình Hydropower Plant left a letter for the next generation of the year 2100. The letter was carefully written and preserved inside a concrete structure, which is now monumentally displayed in front of the Hòa Bình Hydropower Plant’s Tradition House. Some say it carries the prophecy for the next generation, or simply just a commemoration of a groundbreaking ambition amidst the era of challenges. Thus, even when the beneficial generation of the dam will never get a glimpse of hope from the century-defining project’s forefathers or continue writing theirs, one finds curiosity in the concrete letter-preservation structure, which is deconstructed from its origami forms. Its content, is nothing, but a pale scent of The killjoy and all things left unsaid.
